Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM) is partially funding the construction of an overpass in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico.

City, state and federal government agencies also are providing funds for the project, which will ease train and motorist traffic congestion on Madero Avenue in Morelia. To be completed in November, the overpass also will boost operating efficiency on Kansas City Southern’s International Intermodal Corridor, KCS said.

The project is part of KCSM’s Program de Convivencia under which the railroad works with local and state governments to identify and resolve rail operation and community-related problems.
