Last week, the American Chamber of Commerce’s (AmCham) Mexican chapter named José Zozaya president to succeed Alberto Vilar. President and executive representative of Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM), Zozaya is the first Mexican to hold the position.

AmCham Mexico is a non-profit organization that represents about 70 percent of direct foreign investment interests in Mexico. The organization’s members aim to contribute to the nation’s economic and commercial development, and promote the relationship between Mexico and the United States.

Zozaya has served on AmCham Mexico’s executive committee since 2008. He has more than 35 years of law and government relations experience. Prior to joining KCSM as president and executive representative in 2006, Zozaya was general counsel and director for institutional relations for ExxonMobil Mexico.
