KCSR begins to move wind tower parts in Texas
advertisement
Last week, Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR) began moving wind tower components in Texas for a European manufacturer and importer.
The components previously were shipped by water from Europe to Corpus Christi, Texas, then railed on other carriers from Corpus Christi. A recent clearance review of the route determined that the most viable route included KCSR from Corpus Christi to Beaumont, Texas, according to an item posted on the “KCS News” website.
KCSR worked with the Port of Corpus Christi to coordinate the move, and Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. helped coordinate transportation and car distribution. KCSR recently moved the first of two 50-car unit trains.
