On Feb. 9, Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR) Assistant Vice President Regina Reynolds died after a brief bout with cancer. She was 51.
Known as “Reggie” to her friends and co-workers, Reynolds was promoted to AVP of business solutions delivery on Sept. 1, 2005. She was responsible for the company's internal software development and enterprise resource planning solutions.
“While her job performance was exceptional, it was the sense of warmth, professionalism and teamwork that she brought to every endeavor that will be most sorely missed,” said Kansas City Southern Vice President and Chief Information Officer Scott Arvidson in a prepared statement.
In 1988, Reynolds joined KCSR’s information technology department after serving Yellow Freight for nearly 10 years in various information technology positions. She was a 2006 candidate for an executive master of business administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Henry W. Bloch School of Business & Public Administration, which featured Reynolds in an advertising campaign about the masters program.
“Regina Reynolds was a true star, who could be seen as a role model to anyone in the company,” said KCS Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Haverty.
Reynolds is survived by two daughters, a sister and brother, many nieces and nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a scholarship fund in Reynolds’ name in care of Grace Covenant Church, 11100 College Boulevard, Overland Park, KS 66210.
