The National Mediation Board (NMB) recently appointed Michael Kelliher as a mediator. He will mediate railroad and airline collective bargaining and grievance cases.

Kelliher has 30 years of labor relations experience in the airline industry as a labor advocate and previously was president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants at American Airlines. For the past eight years, he has served as an adjunct professor of management in the Brennan School of Business at Dominican University.

An independent federal agency established by the Railway Labor Act, the NMB governs labor-management relations for about 500 U.S. railroads and 100 U.S. airlines.
