Kelso Technologies to ramp up marketing efforts for pressure-relief valve

Next month is shaping up to be a busy one for Kelso Technologies (U.S.A.) Inc. executives. During the first week of April, they plan to visit with representatives of the company’s manufacturer McKenzie Valve & Machining Co. to discuss manufacturing, marketing and growth strategies for the JS75 SRV pressure-relief valve.

Kelso officials also will meet with two major customers, continue negotiations with a specialized sealant supplier to produce and handle aftermarket sales for JS75 SRV seals, and introduce Kelso and its technology to several fleet management/repair and maintenance firms.

In addition, Kelso executives will meet with Union Tank Car Co. representatives to discuss installing the JS75 SRV valve on the freight-car builder’s tank cars. Union Tank Car and its affiliate Procor own 85,000 tank cars in North America.

“Discussions will also focus on Union Tank Car’s assistance in extending Kelso’s reach into the rail sector beyond Union Tank Car itself,” Kelso officials said in a prepared statement.

The JS75 SRV valve is designed to prevent product contamination and back pressure, eliminate the need for a safety valve nozzle and be retrofitted to existing tank cars. Smaller and lighter compared with other pressure-relief valves, the JS75 SRV features an unobstructed opening and flow aperture. Kelso markets the valve to North American tank-car lessors/owners, and oil/gas and chemical shippers though its U.S. subsidiary.
