Kerley, Wier join UTU's board

United Transportation Union (UTU) International Vice Presidents Robert Kerley and David Wier Sr. have joined the union’s board to succeed International VPs Roy Boling and John Fitzgerald, who retired.
A former brakeman, conductor, fireman and locomotive engineer, Kerley has held numerous positions with the UTU since 1977, including associate BNSF general chairperson, BNSF general chairperson and alternate international vice president-West.
A former switchman, Wier previously served the union as a local chairperson, general chairperson and alternate international vice president-East.
Other UTU board members include International President Mike Futhey, Assistant President Arty Martin, General Secretary and Treasurer Kim Thompson, National Legislative Director James Stem, and International VPs Tony Iannone, J.R. "Jim" Cumby, John Babler and Vic Baffoni.
