Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Last week, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA MTA) launched construction on the downtown L.A.-to-Culver City Exposition light-rail line.
The 8.5-mile line will run from downtown L.A. south near the University of California, then run west along Exposition Boulevard to Culver City. A future second phase would extend the line to Santa Monica.
Scheduled to be complete in 2010, the $640 million project also includes building eight stations. Earlier this year, LA MTA awarded the design/build contract to a consortium comprising FCI, Flour Corp. and Parsons.
