advertisement
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA MTA) recently awarded a contract to Parsons Brinckerhoff to provide preliminary engineering services for the Metro Gold Line Foothill extension.
The 24-mile extension would link the current terminus at the Sierra Madra Villa station in Pasadena with the Montclair Transportation Center, located east of the L.A. County line. The project includes 12 stations serving Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte, Irwindale, Azusa, Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona, Claremont and Montclair.
Parsons Brinckerhoff will help develop project specifications that will be incorporated into contract documents the authority will issue to solicit bids from prospective design-build contractors.
Construction on the $1.4 billion project could begin in 2006 with service beginning in 2009.
