After five years of planning, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and developers Gatehouse Capital Corp. and Legacy Partners have broken ground on a joint development project at the Hollywood & Vine Metro Red Line Station.

The $600 million project includes a hotel, 375 luxury apartments, about 50,000 square feet of retail space and transit plaza improvements. Construction is expected to be complete in 2009.
