advertisement
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority recently installed easy-to-use ticket vending machines on the Metro Gold Line, which opens July 26.
The upgraded units are similar to other ticket vending machines on LA MTA’s system, but include instructions in Chinese (in addition to English and Spanish), user-friendly customer interface screens and audio jacks for the hearing impaired. The machines will accept bills up to $20; current machines only accept bills up to $5.
Manufactured by Cubic Transportation Systems Inc., the machines also will be capable of accommodating future smart-card technology.
