LA MTA lets design/build contract for Exposition light-rail line

Last week, the Federal Transit Administration approved the environmental plan for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (LA MTA) Exposition light-rail line.

Shortly thereafter, the Exposition Metro Line Construction Authority — a LA MTA subsidiary created to oversee construction of the line — awarded a $402.2 million design/build contract to a joint venture comprising FCI Constructors Inc., Flour Enterprises Inc. and Parsons.

Construction on the eight-station, 8.5-mile line — which will connect downtown Los Angeles and Culver City — is expected to begin this summer.
