The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA MTA) recently retained PB to evaluate alternative alignments, prepare an environmental impact report and provide conceptual engineering services for the Crenshaw-Prairie Transit Corridor Project.

PB will evaluate the feasibility of implementing a high-capacity transit system within a 10.5-mile corridor, which includes portions of the cities of Los Angeles, Inglewood, Hawthorne and El Segundo. In addition to a "no-build" alternative, other options under consideration include a transportation system management alternative, a bus rapid transit system and a light-rail system.

The study is scheduled for completion in August 2010.
