advertisement

The California Office of Homeland Security recently awarded a $750,000 grant to the Port of Los Angeles.

To date, the port has received $16 million in state and federal homeland security funding.

The port will use the funds to purchase, train and house two additional explosive detection K-9 police dogs, which are primarily used at the port’s cruise terminals. The port also will purchase additional equipment for its underwater and visual surveillance operations, and hazardous materials response team.
