advertisement
The League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW) is seeking nominations for its "Outstanding Woman of The Year" award, which is open to LRIW members.
Co-sponsored by Progressive Railroading, the award will be presented at LRIW's Sixth Annual Luncheon, which will be held Sept. 23 in Chicago during Railway Supply Institute Inc.'s Annual Convention and Technical Conference of the Coordinated Mechanical Committees.
"We're looking for women who've made a mark," says LRIW President Connie Sumara, Chicago Freight Car Leasing Co.'s vice president of operations.
Sumara will accept nominations through Aug. 15. She can be reached via email at
connie@crdx.com.
The primary objective of LRIW is to create a format within the rail industry that provides women the opportunity to achieve a broader understanding of the railroad business.
