Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Last month, the Las Vegas Monorail generated revenue of $2.6 million and carried more than 893,000 passengers — an average of 28,820 daily — including the system’s 10-millionth rider.
“The monorail’s daily average ridership and revenue numbers stayed on a fairly steady course during the last two months,” said Las Vegas Monorail President Curtis Myles in a prepared statement. “Now that the monorail has successfully operated for more than 10 consecutive months without incident, we’re stepping up our marketing efforts.”
Running four miles along the east side of the Las Vegas strip, the monorail includes stops at the Sahara, MGM Grand, Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas Convention Center, Harrah’s/Imperial Palace, Flamingo/Caesars Palace and Paris/Bally’s.
