London light-rail system contracts Bombardier to provide 24 vehicles

London’s Docklands Light Railway recently awarded a $94 million contract to Bombardier Transportation to design and build 24 automatically guided light-rail vehicles.
The contract includes an option for nine additional cars. If the option is exercised, the contract would increase to $126 million.
The vehicles are scheduled to be delivered between May 2007 and September 2008.
