The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recently recognized the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority’s (MARTA) financial reporting efforts with two awards.

For the 11th-consecutive year, the association awarded MARTA a "Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting" for its annual financial report. The certificate recognizes companies that meet high financial reporting standards and demonstrate full disclosure in communicating financial information, according to a prepared statement.

Also, the authority received GFOA’s "Popular Annual Financial Report Award" for the seventh-straight year.
