The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) soon will begin a project designed to more than double the North Station concourse’s size.
The project calls for adding 20,000 square feet to enlarge the passenger waiting area and add tables, chairs and benches. The revamped station will feature food and beverage vendors, shoe shiners, an overhead electronic schedule board, expanded restrooms and improved accessibility.
Work is scheduled to start in June and be complete in November .
