Maglev conference coming to San Diego

Research and development firm General Atomics and the University of California-San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering will host Maglev 2008, the 20th International Conference on Magnetically Levitated Systems and Linear Drives, Dec. 15-18 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego — the first time in 15 years the event is being held in the United States.

Conference topics include worldwide maglev projects, vehicles, levitation, propulsion, controls, safety, linear motor applications and energy supply. Conference organizers expect the event to attract attendees from 16 countries and include presentations on more than 140 papers.
