Maryland Transit Administration implements training software

Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) recently purchased Pathlore Software Corp.’s learning management systems (LMS) software to track and manage career-development paths for the agency’s 3,200 employees.

MTA employees will use the software to manage their career development, register for classes and track professional certifications. Workers can access training records via MTA or home computers.

Agency managers will use LMS to streamline training activities, critique workers during performance evaluations and obtain real-time information on employees’ career development progress.

"This system changes the way we think about developing our employees," said MTA Manager of Organizational Development Joseph Seitz in a prepared statement. "We’re giving them the power to direct their careers and we’re holding everyone in our organization accountable."

MTA previously maintained training records by hand or in a variety of computer spreadsheets.
