Maryland Transit Administration to improve subway, light-rail service

advertisement

On Aug. 26, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will adjust or augment subway and light-rail system operations as part of a fall schedule change.

The agency will reduce headways on the subway system from 22 minutes to 11 minutes between 7 p.m. and midnight on weekdays, and from 22 minutes to 15 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays.

MTA also will launch a new Penn-Camden Shuttle on the light-rail system. Operating every 20 to 30 minutes during the morning and evening rush hours, and every 30 minutes during non-peak periods, the shuttle will eliminate train changes for passengers traveling between Penn Station and Camden Yards.
