Metro Transit-St. Louis has completed a new $90 million transit-oriented development (TOD) project.

Expo at Forest Park, a mixed-use, multifamily development, is adjacent to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station, Metro Transit-St. Louis officials said in a press release. During the first nine weeks of opening, 72 leases have been signed, with only half of new residents owning a car.

Tegethoff Development and Brinkmann Constructors were development and construction contractors on the project, while Trivers Principal Joel Fuoss was the key partner for architecture, planning, urban design and interiors.

Meanwhile, New Jersey Transit will receive a $592,000 grant from the Federal Transit Administration to study TOD possibilities along the proposed Northern Branch 9-mile extension of the Hudson-Bergen light-rail line.

The study will build on efforts to establish neighborhoods and employment centers along the existing rail corridor and create a "blueprint for success" for stakeholders, NJ Transit officials said in a press release.

The extension plans, which call for the construction of a new route through eastern Bergen County with seven new stops, are part of the agency's 10-Year Strategic Plan.

The study will analyze possible TOD building opportunities throughout the neighborhoods of North Bergen, Fairview, Ridgefield, Englewood, Leonia and Palisades Park, officials said.
