Tomorrow, Minneapolis’ Metro Transit will open the second phase of the Hiawatha light-rail line.

Opening four weeks ahead of schedule, the four-mile, five-station segment will serve the Mall of America, city of Bloomington and Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.

In June, the agency opened the eight-mile first phase of the $715.3 million line, which includes 12 stations between Minneapolis and Fort Snelling.
