Miami-Dade Transit continues to seek public feedback on proposed East-West corridor

This week, Miami-Dade Transit will hold several public meetings to gather input on a preferred route for the agency’s proposed East-West Transit Corridor. The 17-mile, $2.5 billion line would connect the Miami Intermodal Center at Miami International University with Florida International University (FIU), and provide links to Miami International Airport, downtown Miami and the Port of Miami.

The authority has been conducting public meetings and workshops in communities along the corridor since June. Agency officials have presented proposed alignments for the corridor and station locations.

During this week’s meetings, Miami-Dade Transit officials will review feedback received so far and discuss a new alignment option that would extend the line from the Dolphin Expressway to FIU’s entrance.
