Miami-Dade Transit hikes ticket prices

On Wednesday, Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) will raise fares to offset rising fuel and electricity costs.
Base fares will increase from $1.50 to $2 and monthly passes, from $75 to $100. Metrorail parking fees will increase, as well.
The agency last increased ticket prices in 2005, when base fares rose from $1.25 to $1.50. Prior to that, MDT's last fare hike occurred in 1990.
