The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS) recently presented scholarships to Taylor Reynolds, William Eggert, Meagan Pagano, Kimberly Macko, Dara Rosenblatt and Rebecca Gustafason.
The association awards scholarships to daughters, sons or grandchildren of MARS members who area enrolled full time as undergraduate students at accredited four-year colleges and universities. Applicants must show a demonstrated commitment to the program in which they are enrolled.
Headquartered in Wayne, Ill., MARS aims to serve as an open forum for resolving transportation and car supply problems, and provide programs designed to educate and inform members on railroad operating practices, new innovations in transportation and legislative matters. The association holds formal meetings twice a year to bring together railroads, shippers, receivers, suppliers and regulators to discuss and resolve rail transportation issues.
