The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS) recently elected Gordon Gustafson president. He serves as vice president and chief commercial officer for ADS Logistics L.L.C.

The association also elected Union Pacific Railroad’s Frank Meidl and Steel Dynamics Inc.’s Craig Longardner as first and second VPs, respectively.

One of five regional organizations under the North American Rail Shippers Association, MARS represents the interests of companies that own and use rail service in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin, and Manitoba and Saskatchewan, Canada. The association aims to provide an open forum for resolving rail transportation and car supply issues, and educate members about railroad operating practices, transportation innovations and legislative matters.
