TTX Co. and Union Pacific Railroad recently recognized Miner Enterprises Inc. for product-quality and customer-service performance in 2002.

For the 12th-straight year, Miner earned TTX's Supplier Evaluation Committee (SECO) Award, which is given to suppliers that maintain high standards based on an audit of their manufacturing, finance, delivery, customer-service and administrative departments.

"Miner has consistently adhered to the highest standards in production and design throughout its organization," said TTX Assistant Vice president of Supply Carl Graziano in a prepared statement.

Meanwhile, Miner received its first-ever UP Supplier of the Year Award, which recognizes suppliers' commitment to service, consistent cost-saving support and innovation.

"[Miner] offers Union Pacific innovative pricing structures and product mixes that continually result in cost savings for us," said UP Vice President of Supply Eric Butler.

Miner supplies a variety of rail-car components, including high-capacity draft gears, side bearings, brake beams and heavy-duty discharge devices.
