The Itasca County Regional Rail Authority (ICRRA) is seeking a short line to operate a spur the agency will build for a proposed steel mill near Nashwauk, Minn., according to the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association.
ICRRA plans to construct a nine-mile spur and 10 miles of yard tracks to serve the plant, which the owner expects to begin building next year and complete in mid-2009. The spur will connect to BNSF Railway Co. and Canadian National Railway Co. lines.

Minnesota rail authority seeks short-line operator for steel mill spur
