Montreal Metro to install surveillance cameras throughout underground network
advertisement
Societe de Transport de Montreal will install Verint Systems Inc.’s Networked Video system to increase passenger security system-wide.
The system will enable Metro surveillance officers to centrally monitor passenger platforms and certain parts of the track from the agency’s central operations center.
The Montreal Metro system provides underground access to the city and its suburbs via four rail lines averaging 800,000 passenger trips. The agency also provides access to Montreal’s "indoor city," an underground network of pedestrian promenades connecting major downtown buildings.
