Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
On Oct. 10-11, MultiModal Applied Systems Inc. will sponsor a free workshop on European freight railway planning at the Holiday Inn Brussels City Centre in Brussels, Belgium.
The workshop will present ways European railways can increase operating efficiencies and profitability despite network congestion, inter-rail freight moves, environmental issues, and the changing European regulatory and commercial environment. Speakers — including European railway executives and independent advisors to the European and North American freight railroad industry — will address such topics as open access challenges, cross-border operators and European Union-mandated operating rules for freight railroads.
“Our goal is to introduce participants to best practices, innovative strategies and tools for solving many of these challenges,” said Carl Van Dyke, president of global rail-planning software provider MultiModal, in a prepared statement.
Interested parties can register online at www.railplanning.com, or by calling Bonnie Painter in the United States at 609-419-9800 or Philip Sutcliffe in the United Kingdom at +44 (0) 1244 403294. The registration deadline is Sept. 30.
