U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.) recently received the George Falcon Golden Spike Award from the National Association of Railroad Passengers (NARP). Named after Los Angeles-area publisher and early NARP member George Falcon, the award recognizes public officials for their support and leadership in promoting rail development.

Chair of the Congressional Rail Caucus, Rehberg helped secure funding for Amtrak in the last appropriations bill.

“Rail service is vital to Montana, where rural communities need affordable transportation and many people have no access to airports or bus service,” said Rehberg in a prepared statement.
