On Sept. 11, National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) named Peter Gatti executive vice president.

An 18-year NITL veteran, Gatti had served as acting president after Ed Emmett's departure in March until the league named John Ficker president in late July. Gatti previously served as vice president of international relations.

"Peter is an invaluable member of the League staff and I am honored to be able to recognize [him] with this promotion," said Ficker in a prepared statement.

Gatti also serves as NITL's official representative to the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, and vice chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce's maritime transport committee.
