New Jersey Transit recently awarded a $97.9 million contract to Skanska USA Civil and Skanska USA Building to rebuild a train maintenance facility in Morrisville, N.J.

The building and civil engineering companies soon will begin excavating the site and demolishing the building. To be completed in 18 months, the project includes building a facility to maintain 120 rail cars — double the current capacity.

The facility will feature a 26,000-foot, double-track service hall, monorail hoisting system, wheel-truing equipment and yardmaster’s tower.
