New Jersey Transit recently awarded a $16.3 million contract to J.H. Reid General Contractor to build the Wayne/Route 23 Park & Ride, a multi-modal hub that will feature rail and bus platforms, and a 1,000-space parking lot.

The project includes a high-level train platform on the Montclair-Boonton Line, bus boarding areas and a surface parking lot. The facility will feature canopies and heated waiting areas, and a passenger information system.

Construction is expected to begin in fall and be complete in early 2008.
