NJ Transit to help communities take advantage of economic opportunities along River Line

Last week, New Jersey Transit officials held a symposium to discuss economic opportunities with officials from communities along the River Line.
The symposium was part of NJ Transit’s "River Line Economic Opportunity Project," which aims to help communities derive benefits from being located on the Trenton-to-Camden light-rail line, which began service in February.
Earlier this year, NJ Transit staff members were assigned to help provide resources for communities interested in fostering transit-oriented development around River Line stations.
During the symposium, agency officials reviewed economic findings and forecasts compiled by consulting firm A. Nelessen Associates. In addition, officials from the communities of Pennsauken, Riverside and Burlington shared economic reports. Several other communities reported that the line already has attracted some business development.
