NJ Transit to open Ramsey station in less than two weeks
advertisement
New Jersey Transit plans to open its new $27.5 million Route 17 station on the Bergen County Line in Ramsey on Aug. 22.
On weekdays, 61 trains will serve the station — located between the Ramsey and Mahwah stations — including 16 during peak periods. NJ Transit will provide express train service to and from the station to reduce travel time between Ramsey and Hoboken by about 11 minutes.
The station will feature more than 1,200 parking spaces, helping NJ Transit meet a state mandate to add 20,000 spaces by 2007. To promote ridership at the new facility, the transit agency will offer free parking through September and begin a marketing campaign in two weeks.
