NJ Transit to raise a few fares next month

advertisement

On July 1, New Jersey Transit will implement a new fare plan, which increases fares an average of 9.9 percent.

River LINE and Newark City Subway fares will rise from $1.10 to $1.25, and Hudson-Bergen Light-Rail Line fares will increase from $1.50 to $1.75.

However, prices will remain the same for Subway, Hudson-Bergen and River LINE monthly passes.

In addition, monthly rail passes will be interchangeable on bus and light-rail lines for trips of equal or lesser value, and passengers will be able to use a monthly or weekly rail pass to travel free through one zone connecting bus or light-rail lines.
