NJ Transit to restore West Trenton passenger-rail line

Later this week, New Jersey Transit will hold public meetings to outline a proposal to restore passenger-rail service on the West Trenton Line.

The 27-mile, five-station line would run from Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s West Trenton Station in Ewing to NJ Transit’s Raritan Valley Line in Bridgewater. NJ Transit estimates the project would cost $219 million.

The agency will accept public comment on the project’s draft environmental assessment at the meetings and until Jan. 15, 2008.
