NJ Transit's retired trolley cars to gain second service life at Bayonne development
advertisement
New Jersey Transit recently provided eight President’s Conference Committee (PCC) trolley cars to the city of Bayonne.
Used on NJ Transit’s Newark City subway line between 1954 and 2001, the cars will be rehabilitated to provide service along a proposed 2.5-mile loop serving the city’s Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor, a 299-acre mixed-use development.
The PCC trolley line will be connected to the NJ Transit’s Hudson Bergen light-rail system’s 34th Street Station via a pedestrian walkway.
