NS, UP to add three cities to Blue Streak intermodal service

Norfolk Southern Railway and Union Pacific Railroad are ready to expand their Blue Streak intermodal service again. The Class Is plan to add Sparks, Nev., Morrisville, Pa., and Austell, Ga., as origins and destinations, beginning Feb. 3.


With the additional lanes, the Class Is will offer northeastern Blue Streak service from UP's intermodal terminals in Lathrop and Oakland, Calif., and Sparks to Harrisburg, Pa., ERail in New Jersey, Morrisville and Austell. NS and UP interchange in Chicago.


The railroads also offer southeastern service via Memphis to Atlanta, Charlotte, N.C., and Miami and Jacksonville, Fla.


Customers can choose from three Blue Streak service levels; the highest level, called the "SuperFlyer," offers guaranteed equipment availability and on-time delivery.
