Norfolk Southern Railway April 3 named Terry Evans vice president operations planning and budget.
Evans, who'll report to Senior Vice President Operations Planning and Support John Samuels, will be responsible for evaluating operational practices and procedures; improving financial, operating and customer-service performance; and overseeing Thoroughbred Operating Plan, NS' new merchandise-network operational blueprint.
Evans joined NS in 1979 as an operations division management trainee, later serving as Georgia and Virginia divisions superintendent, Western Region assistant general manager of transportation and, most recently, Eastern Region general manager of transportation.
