NS honors 43 chemical shippers with 'Thoroughbred' safety awards

Norfolk Southern Corp. recently presented Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Awards for 2007 to 43 chemical shippers.
Handed out the past 12 years, the awards recognize customers that ship more than 1,000 carloads of hazardous materials annually without an incident.
"These valued customers have set the example for safe handling of chemicals transported by rail," said NS Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Wick Moorman in a prepared statement.
Last year, the Class I presented Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Awards to 32 chemical shippers.
