Norfolk Southern Corp. has joined the growing list of U.S. corporations that are providing donations to aid relief efforts in Japan following the devastating earthquake and tsunami.
The Norfolk Southern Foundation will provide a one-for-one match for contributions of at least $25 made by active and retired NS employees to four nonprofit organizations: The American Red Cross/International Response Fund, AmeriCares, Habitat for Humanity International and the Salvation Army International Relief Fund. Donations made until June 30 will be matched up to a maximum corporate contribution of $250,000.
The foundation also will immediately donate $50,000 to be split between the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
