MTA New York City Transit recently awarded a $261 million contract to joint venture Granite Halmar/Schiavone Construction Co. to design and build a South Ferry Terminal subway station in lower Manhattan.
The project includes constructing a new facility and approach tunnel. The existing subway station will remain in service during construction, which will begin later this month and be complete in March 2007.
