The National Cargo Security Council (NCSC) recently published "Guidelines for Cargo Security & Loss Control," a 205-page manual that addresses global logistics and theft concerns facing the transportation industry.

The book covers 16 security topics and appendixes, including how to develop a cargo-security approach for seaports, and air and ground transportation; track, identify and control personnel and cargo reports; and investigate thefts and fraudulent documentation.

The manual also contains a glossary of 870 cargo-transportation terms, and a contact listing for every Federal Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Customs Agency office in the United States.

Available to members for $27.99 and non-members for $34.99, the book may be purchased from NCSC by phone: 410-956-0941; fax: 410-956-0679; or email: ncsc@cargosecurity.com. The manual also can be obtained via the Web at www.cargosecurity.com, or by mail at 3 Church Circle, Suite 292, Annapolis, Md. 21401. Twenty or more copies are available for $20 each.
