Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Britain’s Network Rail recently awarded a $50 million contract to Harsco Track Technologies (HTT) to operate and maintain rail grinders it supplied to the agency.
HTT will operate the grinders under a recently approved United Kingdom Railway Safety Case, which is required before any railway supplier can begin maintaining infrastructure or operating services, according to a prepared statement.
The supplier also will manage an operations center in Dartford, Kent, outside of London, where three branches of the British railway network converge.
