New York MTA boots up new user-friendly home page

This week, New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) launched a redesigned home page at www.mta.nyc.ny.us.

The site now features color-coded categories that include news, numbers, programs and regional transit information for each MTA agency, including New York City Transit (NYCT), Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad. The site also offers photographs of and facts about the transportation system.

During the next few weeks, MTA plans to improve the site’s menu system to provide more consistent information among the various agencies. The authority also will launch a pilot podcast program on NYCT’s site that includes information on topics ranging from safety and security to construction projects. The podcasts eventually will be expanded to include messages for all MTA agencies.
