advertisement
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey recently awarded a two-year contract to Volunteers of America (VOA) to provide outreach services to the homeless at Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) stations in New Jersey.
Beginning Dec. 1, VOA will offer homeless people job referrals, housing, meals, medical assistance, clothing and counseling. The association will conduct the program at PATH’s Journal Square Transportation Center, Exchange Place, Pavonia-Newport, Hoboken and Grove Street stations, which serve a total of about 109,000 daily passengers.
VOA currently provides outreach services at New York PATH stations under a separate contract.
